If you are looking for a nice, cosy place to have lunch in the bustling city of Port Louis, then Café de La Presse is the place to be.
I love this place <3 |
This photo was taken on the first time I went there in 2017 |
With an amazingly friendly and very welcoming staff, the service offered is one of the best. I believe that the positive attitude of the staff contributes a lot to the smooth running of this place.
The menu is a minimalist one and well designed. I have been there several times and most of the time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Wrap with salad and fries. I am that kind of person, who would go through a menu 5 times to end up ordering the the usual thing. But what I like is that the menu also consists of veg dishes which I have tried and loved it. The food presentation is, by the way, very neat and "very instagrammy". No wonder why before eating, I feel the need to take out my phone and take a few snaps to post them with a bunch of food related hashtags. Typical of me!!

So, not only does the food look good, it also tastes good. As for the drinks, I often opt for the ice teas or the flavoured virgin mojito. So far, my favourite is the Blueberry flavoured virgin mojito.
Price wise, it is not at all expensive plus value for money. All the food in the menu is affordable. And guess what! If you are in group but you have to pay your share- they split the bill for you- which makes things much easier. One minor hitch is that they don't bring you the bill to your table. Personally, I don't mind walking to the counter to settle my bill because it gives me the opportunity to take a look at the yummy yummy desserts on display. Think about that yummy Red Velvet cake...So mouth-watering!!
So if you are heading to Café de la Presse, don't forget to make your reservations if you don't want to wait for too long to be allocated a table. And if you know what you want for lunch, you can order beforehand. This will definitely save you some time.
To conclude, I would say, Café de la Presse is highly recommendable. It has always lived up to my expectations and getting better every time I go there. Most of the time, I have been there with friends and colleagues and I have always had a great time.
So basically, if you are inviting me for lunch and it's at Café de La Presse, I'M DEFINITELY COMING!! It is open during the weekdays and sometimes on Saturdays- check out its Facebook page Café de La Presse . And for reservations, call on the 212 85 90 and then you head to 5, rue la chaussee, Port Louis.
Have a nice time!
